Establishment with brief history
The Centre for Biotechnology was established in the Department of Botany, from the academic session 2016-17 as an up gradation of Biological Technique and Specimen Preparation, A Self Finance Vocational course, Granted by University Grant Commission to the Department of Botany, ECC from the academic session 2001-02. After Successful running for 16 years, realizing the recent advancement in the fields of life sciences and to make the subject more relevant, impactful and to train the students for societal development, the course was upgraded into Biotechnology at Graduate level in combination with Chemistry and Botany as other two subjects.
In a short span, The Centre has established itself with well-developed infrastructure, well equipped laboratory, Library etc. The Centre has well qualified and trained faculty members to nurture the students with the latest advancement in the fields of Biotechnology.
The Curriculum is designed in a way so that, students get enriched with the knowledge of the subject and are made competent for various Post Graduate entrance examination conducted by IIT (JAM), JNU and other Central Universities and Research Institutes etc
